How to transcribe an MP3

  1. Drop the file above or choose it from your device.
  2. Wait a few minutes and keep the tab open. Long files are split up by your browser automatically, and you upload once.
  3. Read the result. Copy the text, or download TXT, SRT or VTT.

No account is needed for one file up to 30 minutes. Sign in for longer ones.

What you get

  • Text with punctuation.
  • Speaker labels (Speaker 1, Speaker 2).
  • Timing, so SRT and VTT subtitle files line up.
  • Copy or download. You can copy the text or download TXT, SRT or VTT.

If you want to keep the transcript beside the audio, hear any sentence by tapping it, search and ask AI about it, import the MP3 into a note in My notes.

Other formats

We also accept M4A (m4a to text), WAV (wav to text), OGG, FLAC, AAC, WebM, MP4 and MOV (mp4 to text). Convert MKV, AVI, WMA, AMR and .opus files to MP3 first.

For a cleaner transcript

  • A close microphone beats a loud room.
  • If your MP3 is a phone call or a meeting, expect more mistakes where people talk over each other.
  • Always skim the text before you rely on it.

What it costs

Nothing is for sale right now. Every account that signs in has Pro free until January, with up to 10 hours of transcription a month and no card.

Privacy

Audio is sent to ElevenLabs in the US only to be transcribed. Free homepage transcripts aren't stored; they live in your browser tab until you close it.
