Before you start: no links
You can't paste an Instagram link here. We transcribe files you upload. Use it for your own videos and reels, or for ones you have permission to use. Follow Instagram's terms and don't copy other people's content.
How to do it
- Get the video as a file. For your own reel, you can usually save it to your camera roll from the app's menu or from the original you made before posting. If you can't, screen-record it with sound.
- Drop the file above (MP4 and MOV work), or choose it from your camera roll.
- Wait a few minutes with the tab open.
- Copy the text, or download TXT, SRT or VTT.
No sign-up is needed for one file up to 30 minutes.
What people use it for
- Captions or a post written from a reel you recorded.
- A searchable copy of what you said.
- Subtitles for a longer YouTube version. See subtitles.
- Notes from a live you saved, where you were a host or guest.
Good to know
- It transcribes speech only. Music, on-screen text and effects aren't described.
- Background music makes the transcript less accurate, as with any transcriber.
- Screen recordings can include notification sounds.
- The upload transcribes English; no translation.
- Check names and handles in the result.

What it costs
Nothing is for sale right now. Every account that signs in has Pro free until January, with up to 10 hours of transcription a month and no card. Without an account, the homepage transcribes one file up to 30 minutes.
Privacy
Audio goes to ElevenLabs in the US only to be transcribed. Free homepage transcripts aren't stored; they stay in your tab.
